ಸುಂದರಕಾಂಡ.
ಅಥ ಷಟ್ಚತ್ತ್ವಾರಿಂಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ||

ಹತಾನ್ ಮಂತ್ರಿಸುತಾನ್ ಬುದ್ಧ್ವಾ ವಾನರೇಣ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ|
ರಾವಣಃ ಸಂವೃತಾಕಾರಃ ಚಕಾರ ಮತಿಮುತ್ತಮಾಮ್||1||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ ವಾನರೇಣ ಮಂತ್ರಿಸುತಾನ್ ಹತಾನ್ (ಇತಿ) ಬುದ್ಧ್ವಾ ರಾವಣಃ ಸಂವೃತಾಕಾರಃ ಉತ್ತಮಾಮ್ ಮತಿಂ ಚಕಾರ||

Ravana knowing that the minister's sons have been killed by the great Vanara, concealing his agony , applied his mind.

ಸ ವಿರೂಪಾಕ್ಷಯೂಪಾಕ್ಷೌ ದುರ್ಧರಂ ಚೈವ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಮ್ |
ಪ್ರಘಸಂ ಭಾಸಕರ್ಣಂ ಚ ಪಂಚ ಸೇನಾಗ್ರ ನಾಯಕಾನ್||2||
ಸಂದಿದೇಶ ದಶಗ್ರೀವೋ ವೀರಾನ್ನಯವಿಶಾರದಾನ್ |
ಹನುಮದ್ಗ್ರಹಣಾ ವ್ಯಗ್ರಾನ್ ವಾಯುವೇಗಸಮಾನ್ಯುಧಿ||3||

ಸ|| ಸಃ ದಶಗ್ರೀವಃ ವೀರಾನ್ ನಯವಿಶಾರದಾನ್ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಂ ವಿರೂಪಾಕ್ಷ ಯುಪಾಕ್ಷೌ ಪ್ರಘಸಂ ಭಾಸಕರ್ಣಂ ಚ ದುರ್ಧರಂ ಚ ಪಂಚಸೇನಾಗ್ರನಾಯಕಾನ್ ಯುಧಿ ವಾಯುವೇಗ ಸಮಾನ್ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಗ್ರಹಣಾವ್ಯಗ್ರಾನ್ ಸಂದಿದೇಶ||

The Ten-headed one commanded the five army generals Virupaksha, Yupaksha, Praghasa, Bhasakarna and Durdhara who are warriors skilled in statecraft, to capture in the battle Hanuman who equals wind god in speed

ಸವಾಜಿರಥಮಾತಂಗಾಃ ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ಶಾಸ್ಯತಾಮಿತಿ||4||
ಯತೈಶ್ಚ ಖಲು ಭಾವ್ಯಂ ಸ್ಯಾತ್ತಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ವನಾಲಯಮ್|
ಕರ್ಮ ಚಾಪಿ ಸಮಾಧೇಯಂ ದೇಶಕಾಲವಿರೋಧಿನಮ್||5||
ನ ಹ್ಯಹಂ ತಂ ಕಪಿಂ ಮನ್ಯೇ ಕರ್ಮಣಾ ಪ್ರತಿತರ್ಕಯನ್|
ಸರ್ವಧಾ ತನ್ಮಹದ್ಭೂತಂ ಮಹಾಬಲಪರಿಗ್ರಹಮ್||6||

ಸ|| ಸೇನಾಗ್ರಗಾಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ಮಹಾಬಲಪರಿಗ್ರಹಾಃ ಸವಾಜಿರಥಮಾತಂಗಾಃ ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ಶಾಸ್ಯತಾಂ ಇತಿ ||ತಂ ವನಾಲಯಂ ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ಯತ್ನೈಃ ಚ ಭಾವ್ಯಂ ದೇಶಕಾಲವಿರೋಧಿನಂ ಕರ್ಮಚಾಪಿ ಸಮಾಧೇಯಂ|| ಅಹಂ ಕರ್ಮಣಾ ಪ್ರತಿತರ್ಕಯನ್ ತಂ ಕಪಿಂ ನ ಮನ್ಯೇ | ಸರ್ವಥಾ ಮಹತ್ ಭೂತಂ ಮಹಾಬಲಪರಿಗ್ರಹಂ ||

"Oh Army Generals ! All of you accompanied by large army along with horses, elephants, and chariots punish the Vanara. Approaching the forest dweller, he should be engaged with all efforts which are not against the time and place and even actions done by him. Judging by the actions, I do not think he is a Vanara. That great being is endowed with great strength".

ಭವೇದಿಂದ್ರೇಣ ವಾ ಸೃಷ್ಟಮಸ್ಮದರ್ಥಂ ತಪೋಬಲಾತ್|
ಸನಾಗಯಕ್ಷಗಂಧರ್ವಾ ದೇವಾಸುರಮಹರ್ಷಯಃ||7||
ಯುಷ್ಮಾಭಿ ಸ್ಸಹಿತೈಃ ಸರ್ವೇರ್ಮಯಾ ಸಹ ವಿನಿರ್ಜಿತಾಃ|
ತೈರವಶ್ಯಂ ವಿಧಾತವ್ಯಂ ವ್ಯಳೀಕಂ ಕಿಂಚಿದೇವ ನಃ||8||
ತದೇವ ನಾತ್ರ ಸಂದೇಹಃ ಪ್ರಸಹ್ಯಾ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯತಾಮ್|
ನಾವಮಾನ್ಯೋ ಭವದ್ಭಿಶ್ಚ ಹರಿರ್ಧೀರಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ||9||

ಸ|| ಅಸ್ಮದರ್ಥಂ ತಪೋಬಲಾತ್ ಇಂದ್ರೇಣ ಸ ನಾಗಯಕ್ಷ ಗಂಧರ್ವಾ ದೇವಾಸುರ ಮಹರ್ಷಯಃ ಸೃಷ್ಠಂ ವಾ||ಯುಷ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಸಹ ತೈಃ ಸರ್ವೈಃ ಮಯಾ ವಿನಿರ್ಜಿತಾಃ| ಅವಶ್ಯಂ ತೈಃ ಕಿಂಚಿದೇವ ವ್ಯಳೀಕಂ ವಿಧಾತವ್ಯಂ || ತದೇವ ಅತ್ರ ಸಂದೇಹಃ ನ | ಪ್ರಸಹ್ಯ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯತಾಂ | ಧೀರಪರಿಕ್ರಮಃ ಹರಿಃ ಭವದ್ಭಿಃ ನ ಅವಮಾನ್ಯಃ ಚ||

' For us he might have been created by Indra along with Naga Yaksha Gandharva Devas or asuras or Maharshis. With your help I have defeated them all. Certainly even a little harm should be done. There is no doubt. He may be captured with force.The warrior of heroic strength should not be insulted '.

ದೃಷ್ಟಾ ಹಿ ಹರಯಃ ಪೂರ್ವಂ ಮಯಾ ವಿಪುಲವಿಕ್ರಮಾಃ|
ವಾಲೀ ಚ ಸಹ ಸುಗ್ರೀವೋ ಜಾಂಬವಂಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ||10||
ನೀಲಃ ಸೇನಾಪತಿಶ್ಚೈವ ಯೇ ಚಾನ್ಯೇ ದ್ವಿವಿದಾದಯಃ|
ನೈವಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ಗತಿರ್ಭೀಮಾನ ತೇಜೋ ನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ||11||
ನಮತಿರ್ನ ಬಲೋತ್ಸಾಹೌ ನ ರೂಪಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನಮ್|
ಮಹತ್ಸತ್ತ್ವ ಮಿದಂ ಜ್ಞೇಯಂ ಕಪಿರೂಪಂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತಮ್||12||
ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಂ ಮಹದಾಸ್ಥಾಯ ಕ್ರಿಯತಾ ಮಸ್ಯ ನಿಗ್ರಹಃ|

ಸ|| ಪೂರ್ವಂ ಮಯಾ ವಿಪುಲವಿಕ್ರಮಾಃ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ವಾಲೀ ಚ ಜಾಂಬವಂತಃ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಃ ಸಹ ಹರಯಃ ದೃಷ್ಟಾ || ನೀಲಃ ದ್ವಿವಿದಾದಯಃ ಅನ್ಯೇ ಸೇನಾಪತಿಃ ಚ ತೇಷಾಂ ಗತಿಃ ನ ಏವಂ ತೇಜಃ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ ನ|| ನ ಮತಿಃ ಬಲಃ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಃ ನ ರೂಪಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನಂ | ಇದಂ ಕಪಿರೂಪಂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತಂ ಮಹತ್ ಸತ್ತ್ವಂ ಜ್ಞೇಯಂ || ಮಹತ್ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಂ ಆಸ್ಥಾಯ ಅಸ್ಯ ನಿಗ್ರಹಃ ಕ್ರಿಯತಾಂ||

" Earlier I have seen immensely powerful mighty Vanaras like Vali , Jambavan, and Sugriva. Nila Dvivida and other army generals too. They do not have his speed or valor. Not that intellect, not that strength and energy or the ability to change form at will. This great being has taken the form of a Vanara. You have to put extraordinary efforts to capture him".

ಕಾಮಂ ಲೋಕಾಸ್ತ್ರಯಃ ಸೈಂದ್ರಾಃ ಸಸುರಾಸುರಮಾನವಾಃ |
ಭವತಾ ಮಗ್ರತಃ ಸ್ಥಾತುಂ ನ ಪರ್ಯಾಪ್ತಾ ರಣಾಜಿರೇ||
ತಥಾಪಿ ತು ನಯಜ್ಞೇನ ಜಯ ಮಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷತಾ ರಣೇ||14||
ಅತ್ಮಾ ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಃ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನೇನ ಯುದ್ಧಸಿದ್ದಿರ್ಹಿ ಚಂಚಲಾ|

ಸ|| ಸ ಇಂದ್ರಾಃ ಸ ಸುರಾಸುರಮಾನವಾಃ ತ್ರಯಃ ಲೋಕಾಃ ರಣಾಜಿರೇ ಭವತಾಮ್ ಅಗ್ರತಃ ಸ್ಥಾತುಂ ನ ಪರ್ಯಾತಾಃ ಕಾಮಮ್|| ತಥಾಪಿ ತು ರಣೇ ಜಯಂ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷಯಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನೇನ ಆತ್ಮಾ ರಕ್ಷ್ಯಃ | ಯುದ್ಧಸಿದ್ಧಿಃ ಚಂಚಲಾಃ||

" Along with Indra and all Suras Asuras and Manavas there is no one in the three worlds who is competent to stand in front of him. Even so desiring victory in the battle make all efforts to protect yourself. The result of battle is uncertain".

ತೇ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಚನಂ ಸರ್ವೇ ಪ್ರತಿಗುಹ್ಯ ಮಹೌಜಸಃ||15||
ಸಮುತ್ಪೇತುರ್ಮಹಾವೇಗಾ ಹುತಾಶಸಮತೇಜಸಃ|
ರಥೈರ್ಮತ್ತೈಶ್ಚ ಮಾತಂಗೈರ್ವಾಜಿಭಿಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾಜನೈಃ||16||
ಶಸ್ತ್ರೈಶ್ಚ ವಿವಿಧೈಃ ತೀಕ್ಷ್‍ಣೈಃ ಸರ್ವೈಶ್ಚೋಪಚಿತಾ ಬಲೈಃ|

ಸ|| ಮಹೌಜಸಃ ಹುತಾಶ ಸಮ ತೇಜಸಃ ತೇ ಸರ್ವೇ ಸ್ವಾಮಿವಚನಂ ಪ್ರತಿಗೃಹ್ಯ ಮಹಾವೇಗಾಃ ರಥೈಃ ಮತ್ತೈಃ ಮಾತಂಗೈಃ ಮಹಾಜವೈಃ ವಾಜಿಭಿಶ್ಚ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣೈಃ ವಿವಿಧೈಃ ಶಸ್ತ್ರೈಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ಬಲೈಃ ಉಪಚಿತಾಃ ಸಮುತ್ಪೇತುಃ||

Those powerful ones, resplendent like the sacrificial fire, taking the leader's words moved together with their army of chariots , intoxicated elephants, with horses of great speed, and many kinds of sharp weapons,

ತತಸ್ತಂ ದದೃಶುರ್ವೀರಾ ದೀಪ್ಯಮಾನಂ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಮ್||17||
ರಸ್ಮಿಮಂತಮಿವೋದ್ಯಂತಂ ಸ್ವತೇಜೋರಶ್ಮಿಮಾಲಿನಮ್|
ತೋರಣಸ್ಥಂ ಮಹೋತ್ಸಾಹಂ ಮಹಾಸತ್ತ್ವಂ ಮಹಾಬಲಮ್||18||
ಮಹಾಮತಿಂ ಮಹಾವೇಗಂ ಮಹಾಕಾಯಂ ಮಹಾಬಲಮ್|
ತಂ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯೈವ ತೇ ಸರ್ವೇ ದಿಕ್ಷು ಸರ್ವಾಸ್ವವಸ್ಥಿತಾಃ||19||
ತೈಸ್ತೈಃ ಪ್ರಹರಣೈರ್ಭೀಮೈರಭಿಪೇತುಃ ತತಸ್ತತಃ|

ಸ|| ತತಃ ವೀರಾಃ ಸ್ವತೇಜೋರಸ್ಮಿಮಾಲಿನಂ ಉದ್ಯಂತಂ ರಸ್ಮಿಮಂತಂ ಇವ ದೀಪ್ಯಮಾನಂ ತೋರಣಸ್ಥಂ ಮಹೋತ್ಸಾಹಂ ಮಹಾಸತ್ತ್ವಂ ಮಹಾಬಲಂ ತಂ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಂ ದದೃಶುಃ|| ಮಹಾಮತಿಂ ಮಹಾವೇಗಂ ಮಹಾಕಾಯಂ ಮಹಾಬಲಂ ತಂ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯೈವ ತೇ ಸರ್ವೇ ಸರ್ವಾ ದಿಕ್ಷುಃ ತೈಃ ತೈಃ ತತಃ ತತಃ ಭೀಮೈಃ ಪ್ರಹರಣೈಃ ಅಭಿಪೇತುಃ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತಾಃ ||

Then the heroes saw Hanuman, the great Vanara the mighty intelligent being, shining by his own effulgence, rising and shining like a Sun, perched on the archway, Looking at him who is highly intelligent, speedy, mighty and is with huge form, they positioned themselves in with different fearsome weapons here and there in all directions. Then they attacked him.

ತಸ್ಯ ಪಂಚಾಯಸಾಃ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣಾಃ ಶಿತಾಃ ಪೀತಮುಖಾಃ ಶರಾಃ||20||
ಶಿರಸ್ಯುತ್ಪಲಪತ್ರಾಭಾ ದುರ್ಧರೇಣ ನಿಪಾತಿತಾಃ|
ಸ ತೈಃ ಪಂಚಭಿರಾವಿದ್ಧಃ ಶರೈಃ ಶಿರಸಿ ವಾನರಃ||21||
ಉತ್ಪಪಾತ ನದನ್ ವ್ಯೋಮ್ನಿ ದಿಶೋ ದಶ ವಿನಾದಯನ್|

ಸ||ಪಂಚ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣಾಃ ಶಿತಾಃ ಪೀತಮುಖಾಃ ಉತ್ಪಲಪತ್ರಾಭಾಃ ಆಯಸಾಃ ಶರಾಃ ತಸ್ಯ ಶಿರಸ್ಯು ದುರ್ಧರೇಣ ನಿಪಾತಿತಾಃ || ಸಃ ವಾನರಃ ತೈಃ ಪಂಚಭೀ ಶರೈಃ ಶಿರಸಿ ಆವಿದ್ಧಃ ನದನ್ ದಶದಿಶಃ ವಿನಾದಯನ್ ವ್ಯೋಮ್ನಿ ಉತ್ಪಪಾತ||

Five arrows made of iron with powerful sharp steel shafts and polished yellow tips by Durdhara pierced his head, they were like shining like petals of lilies (for Hanuman). That Vanara hit by the five of them in the head , making a loud noise in all directions jumped up into the sky.

ತತಸ್ತು ದುರ್ಧರೋ ವೀರಃ ಸರಥಃ ಸಜ್ಯಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ||22||
ಕಿರಣ್ ಶತಶತೈಃ ತೀಕ್ಷ್‍ಣೈರಭಿಪೇದೇ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ|
ಸ ಕಪಿರ್ವಾರಯಾಮಾಸ ತಂ ವ್ಯೋಮ್ನಿ ಶರವರ್ಷಿಣಮ್||23||
ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಮಂತಂ ಪಯೋದಾಂತೇ ಪಯೋದಮಿವ ಮಾರುತಃ|
ಅರ್ಧ್ಯಮಾನಃ ತತಸ್ತೇನ ದುರ್ಧರೇಣಾನಿಲಾತ್ಮಜಃ||24||
ಚಕಾರ ಕಥನಂ ಭೂಯೋ ವ್ಯವರ್ಥತ ಚ ವೇಗವಾನ್ |
ಸದೂರಂ ಸಹಸೋತ್ಪತ್ಯ ದುರ್ದರಸ್ಯ ರಥೇ ಹರಿಃ||25||
ನಿಪಪಾತ ಮಹಾವೇಗೋ ವಿದ್ರ್ಯುದ್ರಾಶಿರ್ಗಿರಾವಿವ|

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ದುರ್ಧರಃ ಸರಥಃ ಸಜ್ಯಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣೈಃ ಶರಶತೈಃ ಕಿರಣ್ ಅಭಿಪೇದೇ|| ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ವ್ಯೋಮ್ನಿ ಶರವರ್ಷಿಣಂ ತಂ ಪಯೋದಾಂತೇ ವೃಷ್ಟಿಮಂತಂ ಪಯೋದಂ ಮಾರುತಃ ಇವ ವಾರಯಾಮಾಸ||ತೇನ ದುರ್ಧರೇನ ಅರ್ಧ್ಯಮಾನಃ ಅನಿಲಾತ್ಮಜಃ ತತಃ ಕದನಂ ಚಕಾರ| ವೇಗವಾನ್ ಭೂಯಃ ವ್ಯವರ್ಧತ|| ಸ ಹರಿಃ ಸಹಸಾ ಉತ್ಪತ್ಯ ಮಹಾವೇಗಃ ಗಿರೌ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ರಾಶಿಃ ಇವ ದುರ್ಧರಸ್ಯ ರಥೇ ನಿಪಪಾತ||

Then the powerful Durdhara mounted on his chariot hit him with hundreds of sharp arrows. That Vanara in the sky kept away the shower of arrows like wind keeps clouds from raining showers. Being attacked by Durdhara, the son of wind god fought the battle. Speedily he again increased his size. That Vanara having grown very fast, fell on the chariot like a lightning on a mountain.

ತತಃ ಸ ಮಧಿತಾಷ್ಟಾಶ್ವಂ ರಥಂ ಭಗ್ನಾಕ್ಷಕೂಬರಮ್||26||
ವಿಹಾಯನ್ಯಪತದ್ಭೂಮೌ ದುರ್ಧರಃ ತ್ಯಕ್ತ ಜೀವಿತಃ|

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಸಃ ಮಥಿತಾಷ್ಟಾಶ್ವಂ ಭಗ್ನಾಕ್ಷಕೂಬರಂ ರಥಂ ವಿಹಾಯ ತ್ಯಕ್ತಜೀವಿತಃ ಭೂಮೌ ನ್ಯಪತತ್ ||

Then he ( Durdhara) lost the chariot with eight horses killed and the axle broken, lost his life and fell down on the ground.

ತಂ ವಿರೂಪಾಕ್ಷಯೂಪಾಕ್ಷೌ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ನಿಪತಿತಂ ಭುವಿ||27||
ಸಂಜಾತರೋಷೌ ದುರ್ದರ್ಷಾವುತ್ಪೇತತುರರಿಂದಮೌ|
ಸ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸಹಸೋತ್ಪತ್ಯ ವಿಷ್ಠಿತೋ ವಿಮಲೇಂಬರೇ||28||
ಮುದ್ಗರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಮಹಾಬಾಹು ರ್ವಕ್ಷಸ್ಯಭಿಹಿತಃ ಕಪಿಃ|
ತಯೋರ್ವೇಗವತೋರ್ವೇಗಂ ವಿನಿಹತ್ಯ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ||29||
ನಿಪಪಾತ ಪುನರ್ಭೂಮೌ ಸುಪರ್ಣ ಸಮವಿಕ್ರಮಃ|

ಸ|| ದುರ್ಧರ್ಷೌ ಅರಿಂದಮೌ ವಿರೂಪಾಕ್ಷಯೂಪಾಕ್ಷೌ ಭುವಿ ನಿಪಾತಿತಂ ತಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಸಂಜಾತರೋಷೌ ಉತ್ಪೇತುಃ|| ವಿಮಲೇ ಅಂಬರೇ ತಿಷ್ಠಿತಃ ಮಹಾಬಾಹುಃ ಸಃ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸಹಸಾ ಉತ್ಪತ್ಯ ಮುದ್ಗರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವಕ್ಷಸಿ ಅಭಿಹಿತಃ|| ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ಸುಪರ್ಣಸಮ ವಿಕ್ರಮಃ ವೇಗವತೋಃ ತಯೋಃ ವೇಗಂ ವಿನಿಹತ್ಯ ಪುನಃ ಭೂಮೌ ನಿಪಪಾತ||

The unassailable crushers of enemies Virupaksha and Yupaksha seeing Durdhara fallen to the ground, thus enraged jumped up. The great Vanara with powerful arms having leapt up and standing in the sky quickly hit both of them on the chest with iron hammers. The mighty one with the speed of Suparna, while resisting again fell on the ground.

ಸ ಸಾಲವೃಕ್ಷ ಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ತ ಮುತ್ಪಾಟ್ಯ ಚ ವಾನರಃ||30||
ತಾ ವುಭೌ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೌ ವೀರೌ ಜಘಾನ ಪವನಾತ್ಮಜಃ|
ತತಃ ತಾಂ ಸ್ತ್ರೀನ್ ಹತಾನ್ ಜ್ಞಾತ್ವಾ ವಾನರೇಣ ತರಸ್ವಿನಾ||31||
ಅಭಿಪೇದೇ ಮಹಾವೇಗಃ ಪ್ರಸಹ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಘಸೋ ಹರಿಂ|
ಭಾಸಕರ್ಣಶ್ಚ ಸಂಕ್ರುದ್ಧಃ ಶೂಲಮಾದಾಯ ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್||32||

ಸ|| ವಾನರಃ ಸಃ ಪವನಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಸಾಲವೃಕ್ಷಂ ಆಸಾದ್ಯ ತಂ ಉತ್ಪಾಟ್ಯ ತೌ ಉಭೌ ವೀರೌ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೌ ಜಘಾನ||ತತಃ ತರಸ್ವಿನಾ ವಾನರೇನ ತಾನ್ ತ್ರೀನ್ ಹತಾನ್ ಜ್ಞಾತ್ವಾ ಪ್ರಘಸಃ ಮಹಾವೇಗಃ ಪ್ರಸಹ್ಯಾ ಅಭಿಪೇದೇ | ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ ಭಾಸಕರ್ಣಃ ಚ ಸಂಕೃದ್ಧಃ ಶೂಲಂ ಆದಾಯ||

The Vanara, the son of wind god, seized a Sala tree. Uprooting the same, he killed the two heroes. Then knowing that the three generals have been killed by the Vanara, Praghasa who moves with great speed violently attacked. The courageous Bhasakarna too enraged brought the spear.

ಏಕತಃ ಕಪಿಶಾರ್ದೂಲಂ ಯಶಸ್ವಿನಮವಸ್ಥಿತಮ್|
ಪಟ್ಟಿಸೇನ ಶಿತಾಗ್ರೇಣ ಪ್ರಘಸಃ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯೋಧಯತ್||33||
ಭಾಸಕರ್ಣಶ್ಚ ಶೂಲೇನ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ ಕಪಿಸತ್ತಮಮ್|
ಸ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವಿಕ್ಷತೈರ್ಗಾತ್ರೈರಸೃಗ್ದಿಗ್ಥ ತನೂರುಹಃ||34||
ಅಭವತ್ ವಾನರಃ ಕ್ರುದ್ಧೋ ಬಾಲಸೂರ್ಯ ಸಮಪ್ರಭಃ|

ಸ|| ಯಶಸ್ವಿನಂ ಕಪಿಶಾರ್ದೂಲಂ ಏಕತಃ ಅವಸ್ಥಿತಂ ತಂ ಪ್ರಘಸಃ ಶಿತಾಗ್ರೇಣ ಪಟ್ಟಿಸೇನ ಕಪಿಸತ್ತಮಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯೋಧಯತ್ ಭಾಸಕರ್ಣಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ ಶೂಲೇನ||ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ವಿಕ್ಷತೈಃ ಗಾತ್ರೈಃ ಅಸೃಗ್ಧಿತನೂರುಹಃ ಸಃ ವಾನರಃ ಬಾಲಸೂರ್ಯಸಮಪ್ರಭಃ ಕೃದ್ಧಃ ಅಭವತ್||

The renowned, tiger among the Vanaras on the one side was attacked by Praghasa with sharp crowbar, Bhasakarna the Rakshasa attacked with a spear. Attacked by both of them with his body smeared with blood the Vanara shining like a rising Sun became angry.

ಬಲಂ ಚ ತದವಶೇಷಂ ಚ ನಾಶಯಾಮಾಸ ವಾನರಃ|||36||
ಅಶ್ವೈರಶ್ವಾನ್ ಗಜೈರ್ನಾಗಾನ್ ಯೋಧೈರ್ಯೋಧಾನ್ ರಥೈ ರಥಾನ್|
ಸಕಪಿರ್ನಾಶಯಾಮಾಸ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷ ಇವಾಸುರಾನ್||37||

ಸ|| ಕಪಿಕುಂಜರಃ ವೀರಃ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಸಮೃಗವ್ಯಾಲಪಾದಪಮ್ ಗಿರೇ ಶೃಂಗಂ ಸಮುತ್ಪಾಟ್ಯ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೌ ಜಘಾನ||ಸ|| ತತಃ ತೇಷು ಪಂಚಸು ಸೇನಾಪತಿಷು ಅವಸನ್ನೇಷು ವಾನರಃ ತತ್ ಅವಶೇಷಂ ಬಲಂ ನಾಶಯಾಮಾಸ||ಸ|| ಸ ಕಪಿಃ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷಃ ಅಸುರಾನ್ ಇವ ಅಶ್ವೈಃ ಅಶ್ವಾನ್ ಗಜೈಃ ನಾಗಾನ್ ಯೋಧೈಃ ಯೋಧಾನ್ ರಥೈಃ ರಥಾನ್ ನಾಸಯಾಮಾಸ||

Hanuman, the best of Vanaras, plucked the peak of a mountain along with all animals and trees, using the same killed both the Rakshasas. After the five generals were killed , the Vanara then started to destroy the rest of the forces. Like Indra destroying the Asuras, the Vanara destroyed the horses with horses, the elephants with elephants, the warriors with warriors, the chariots with chariots.

ಹತೈರ್ನಾಗೈಶ್ಚ ತುರಗೈರ್ಭಗ್ನಾಕ್ಷೈಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾರಥೈಃ|
ಹತೈಶ್ಚ ರಾಕ್ಷಸೈರ್ಭೂಮೀರುದ್ದಮಾರ್ಗಾ ಸಮಂತತಃ||38||

ಸ|| ಹತೈಃ ನಾಗೈಃ ತುರಗೈಃ ಭಗ್ನಾಕ್ಷೈಃ ಮಹಾರಥೈಶ್ಚ ಹತೈಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ ಭೂಮಿಃ ಸಮನ್ತತಃ ರುದ್ಧಮಾರ್ಗಾ||

With dead elephants, horse, broken chariots, and the dead Rakshasas the whole ground was filled up.

ತತಃ ಕಪಿಸ್ತಾನ್ ಧ್ವಜಿನೀಪತೀನ್ ರಣೇ
ನಿಹತ್ಯ ವೀರಾನ್ ಸಬಲಾನ್ ಸವಾಹನಾನ್|
ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವೀರಃ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯ ತೋರಣಂ
ಕೃತಕ್ಷಣಃ ಕಾಲ ಇವ ಪ್ರಜಾಕ್ಷಯೇ||39||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ವೀರಃ ಕಪಿಃ ವೀರಾನ್ ಸಬಲಾನ್ ಸ ವಾಹನಾನ್ ತಾನ್ ಧ್ವಜಿನಿಪತೀನ್ ರಣೇ ನಿಹತ್ಯ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ ತೋರನಂ ಪರಿಗೃಹ್ಯ ಪ್ರಜಾಕ್ಷಯೇ ಕಾಲಃ ಇವ ಕೃತಕ್ಷಣಃ||

Then the hero Vanara having killed the generals along with their forces and vehicles and reviewing the same went back to the archway much like the Time bent on destroying the humanity.

Thus ends Sarga forty six of Sundarakanda of Ramayana the first poem ever composed in Sanskrit by the first poet sage Valmiki.
